Fee for Non-members is Php300 Fee for Students is Php150 Objectives: - To provide essential knowledge about copyright to Filipino Freelance Journalists’ Guild (FFJG) members, and other publics. - To help safeguard the rights of journalists pertaining to their creative work. - To contribute to the overall professional development of journalists in the Philippines. At the end of the program, it is expected that forum participants will gain an essential knowledge on Copyright in relation to Journalism as a Philippine practice, as well as acquire a working understanding on how to remedy cases of possible infringement. Program: Session 1 (45 mins) : Overview on Copyright Law for Journalists Session 2 (45 mins) : Copyright for Photography Session 3 (45 mins) : Copyright for Written Work Session 4 (1hr) : Question & Answer Modality: Hybrid (On-site and Online) Topics: 1. What do photojournalists/journalsts need to know about copyright? 2. What are Economic Rights and Moral Rights? 3. What are the enabling laws for Copyrights in the Philippines? 4. Key topics: • CTTO (Credit To The Owner) • Fair Use • Generative Artificial Intelligence • Creative Commons • Plagiarism • Failure of Payment • Case Studies 5. What are remedial actions in cases of Copyright infringement? This Hugot Freelancer session is organized by the Filipino Freelance Journalists' Guild (FFJG) and is co-organized by Photography Chismis PH in conjunction with Insights: Issue Two.
