RIa Kristina Torente is an independent writer and photographer based in Rizal, Philippines. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Communication Arts and has been awarded scholarships for photojournalism and documentary photography from Foundry Photojournalism Workshop and VII Academy. In 2021, she received a grant from the Philippine Center for Investigative Journalism and the Photojournalists’ Center of the Philippines as part of the Capturing Human Rights Fellowship Program. Her project chronicled the lives of people living with HIV during the pandemic.

Her work delves into significant themes revolving around women and health.
