Ria Kristina Torrente is a freelance photographer and writer based in Rizal, Philippines. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Communication Arts from Miriam College and has participated in visual journalism workshops with The VII Foundation. With a focus on documentary photography, her work centers on women and other human stories.  In 2021, she received a grant from the Philippine Center for Investigative Journalism and the Photojournalists’ Center of the Philippines as part of the Capturing Human Rights Fellowship Program. Her project chronicled the lives of people living with HIV during the pandemic.
